Anti-Vertex [Prima]

The anti-vertex is the point of intersection of the prime vertical and the ecliptic in the east. It is opposite the vertex, which is in the west.

The axis formed by the anti-vertex and vertex is generally seen as playing a role similar to that of the ascendant-descendant axis, with the anti-vertex (serving as an auxiliary ascendant) providing additional information with regard to the individual's personality and manner of approach to social situations. However, in contrast to the conscious, future-oriented behavior associated with the ascendant, the traits and mannerisms reflected by the anti-vertex (being located opposite the vertex or point of "fated" encounters and experiences) can be considered as representing the less conscious or controllable sides of the personality.
