2 articles for "Prohibition"

Prohibition [Astri*Index]

Horary Astrology.

Prohibition occurs when two significators are prevented from completing an aspect because a third planet aspects one of them first. The prohibition causes an abscission of light whereby the outcome indicated by the two signifying planets is "cut off" by the third. The desired result does not come to pass. An aspect time scale is useful for checking prohibition. In the following example of prohibition by aspect, where Venus and Jupiter are the two significators of the question, the moon will square Jupiter before Venus can trine Jupiter, thereby preventing the conclusion of what the Venus/Jupiter trine promised.
