Righi, Augusto [Astro*Index](ree'gee)
(1850-1920) Italian physicist. Born and died at Bologna.
His experiments showed that the shorter of the radio waves exhibited the phenomena of reflection, refraction, polarization, and interference, in the same manner as that of light. These results showed that radio and light waves differed only in wavelength, thus establishing the existence of the electromagnetic spectrum.
