Wolf-Rayet Star [Astro*Index]

The Wolf-Rayet Stars (also called W-R Stars) are very blue and very hot. About 25% of them are Binaries. They are concentrated along the Galactic Equator (95% within 5°). Wolf-Rayet stars are highly luminous and very short-lived. Their spectra display very wide emission lines.
