There are three types of astrologers who are making their mark on the 21st Century, each with a unique approach and style, depending on where and how they learned the craft, whether they:
- Apprenticed to a master, then progressed to study with others. This is the way we have gotten almost all our great astrologers over the past several millennia. The difficulty of this path is finding the right master who will accept you, and the right circumstances.
- Studied it at university or college. You could do that in the Renaissance, but not since, until recently, when the likes of Kepler College and others have actually been giving organized courses of study and recognized degrees.
- Are totally self-taught. Here you find the great feral geniuses of the Internet, whose independent thinking shuns allegiance — but also some very flawed practitioners who are really something else, just calling themselves astrologers.
Lynn Hayes falls comfortably into category one, having been fortunate enough to live in the same town as Steven Forrest who became her first teacher back in the early ‘80s. With that under her belt, she moved to absorb the works and approaches of Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas, as well as develop an affinity for the alchemical quality of the Jungian viewpoint on the astrological archetypes. These still inform her reassuringly mainstream personal practice and style, which is wisely referential and comparative in its methods of analysis. When she makes a judgment, it’s clearly the result of the synthesis of multiple indicators and a preponderance of astrological evidence.
Her publishing persona was born in the early ‘90s when she began writing a planetary weather column called “Skywatch” for a North Carolina New Age magazine called Connexions and later for Innerchange. In 1994 she took “Skywatch” to the web and began working through her website Astrodynamics. Her Astrological Musings blog was born in the fall of 2005 and her regular features on celebrity charts appear in Arizona’s National Ledger and other print and cyber publications.
Lynn Hayes has one of the best regular celebrity/news features out there today! As such, Matrix Software is excited to announce that we will begin featuring some of Hayes' celebrity profiles in The Third House's Star Gazing section. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! |
