Hour circles that pass through the solstice and the equinox points. Intersecting at right angles at the Celestial Poles, they are known, respectively, as solsticial and equinoctial colures.

Either of the two Great Circles intersecting at right anglesat the poles. One circle passes through the Ecliptic at the Solstice, the other at the Equinox.
