Electromagnetic Spectrum [Astro*Index]

A method of classifying radiation by separating it into groups of frequencies. These range from the shortest, gamma rays, to X-rays, to ultra-violet to visible, to infra-red, to radio, the longest. Different types of stars give off each of these; thus, one system used to classify stars is by what kind of radiation they emit.
