Derivative Houses [Astro*Index]A method of renumbering the houses counting counterclockwise from any house treated as the new first house; used to determine an astrological influence on a secondary party. In a horary question such as "When will my sister get better," the 3rd house of the radix chart becomes the 1st house of the sister. The radix 4th becomes the sister's 2nd, etc. In a child's natal chart, information about a 10th house parent's job is read from the 7th house, which is ten houses counterclockwise from the 10th house in the child's chart.
