Usually used in one of the senses decribed in "Node".

North Point [Astro*Index]

The point on the Celestial Sphere nearest the North Celestial Pole formed by the intersection of the observer's Meridian and the Horizon. Many astrological authors confuse the North Point with the IC (Imum Coeli), which lies below the Horizon, and may lie closer to the South Point of the Horizon.

North Star [Astro*Index]

The star on the Celestial Sphere which is nearest the North Celestial Pole. Presently, the star Polaris (alpha Ursae Minoris) in the constellation Ursa Minor, or the Little Bear. As the spin-axis of the Earth moves about the north pole of the Ecliptic in a small circle, different stars become the North Star: In BC2700, the star Thuban (alpha Draconis) was the North Star; during this era the Great Pyramid of Giza was erected with its main passage pointing to Thuban.
