Amplitude [Astro*Index]1. (Astronomy) The angular distance from the East point to the Rising Point of a body.
2. (Astrology) A term adapted from astronomy by Charles Jayne for the equivalent of latitude in the prime vertical coordinate system. Amplitude is to the plane of the prime vertical as geographic latitude is to the plane of the Earth's equator.
3. A term used by John Addey in his harmonics work to show the strength of each individual harmonic, as a percentage of mean distribution.
