Major Aspect [Astro*Index]

Traditionally, the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition, said to be more important in chart interpretation than other divisions of the horoscope circle. Various astrologers use other aspects, most commonly the half division multiples of the square, the semisquare and sesquiquadrate. Astrologers are in general agreement that the closer the aspect to being exact, the stronger the influence. For example, a sesquiquadrate between two strong planets, within 3 arc-minutes of exact, would carry the weight of a major aspect.
