Dwarf Nova [Astro*Index]

(Also called a SS Cygni or U Geminorum Star)

A repeating variable nova with a range of up to six magnitudes. It repeats its outburst at quasi-periodic intervals of a few weeks or months, are faint at minimum, and around magnitude 0 at maximum.
